Since the beginning of 2020, we’ve been working with HURIDOCS and PILPG on a project focused on tech tools for human rights documentation in the context of transitional justice.
The findings from our research were initially published as pdf reports, but we’ve been working to adapt and translate these and put them online – and the website is now up! The site is available in three languages: English, French, and Arabic.
On the site you’ll find, among other things:
- PRACTICAL ADVICE for documenters around selecting and implementing the right tech tools for your needs and workflows, including explanations of key features to take into account.
- Links to, and more info about, an accompanying TOOLS TABLE that offers an overview of some of the tools currently available for different aspects of documentation (including collection, verification, management and storage)
- RESEARCH FINDINGS from interviews and discussions with civil society documentation groups of human rights abuses, tool developers working in this space, and experts working on transitional justice.
Please feel free to let us know what you think! Feedback can be sent to hello[at]theengineroom.org – we’d love to hear from you.
