Meet Us at RightsCon Toronto 2018!

Laura Guzman

Will you be at RightsCon Toronto this week? Alix, Julia, Nicole and Zara will be!

We are looking forward to sharing our research on how civil society organisations can strengthen their organisational security, and to discussing data for humanitarian needs, based on our work for Oxfam on using biometrics in humanitarian settings. We’re also in the process of conducting research to understand the needs of emergency digital support, and we’re keen to use RightsCon as an opportunity to strengthen that research.

We are excited to see many of our partners, allies and friends there, too. However, we are disappointed to hear that many people were denied a visa to attend the event, and know that their absences will be felt.

For those who were able to get a visa and attend – feel free to reach out directly on post[at]theengineroom.org if you’d like to schedule a meeting with any or all of us. Below are a few sessions that we’ll be playing a part in, and we hope to see some of you there.
